Aeneis was written by the Roman poet Vergil around 29-19 BC, consisting of nearly 10,000 dactylic hexameter verses divided into 12 books, telling the story about the adventures of hero Aeneas from after the Trojan War until the end when he became the father of the Roman people.

The Aeneis epic translation project was started by Nguyen Binh in 2017. As of June 2023, Nguyen Binh has finished translating the first two books of the epic, including a total of 12 books. 8000 lines of Latin remain.
