ORESTEIA is the only ancient Greek tragedy trilogy surviving today, written by Aeschylus, consisting of three plays: Agamemnon, Choephori (The Holy Wine Bearers) and Eumenides (The Vengeful Spirits).

The play begins with the event of Agamemnon returning from the victory of the Greek army in Troy. Queen Clytemnestra, holding a grudge against her husband because of his sacrifice of their daughter Iphigenia in battle, plotting with her lover Aegisthus to assassinate Agamemnon. Some time later, Clytemnestra was
avenged by her own son, prince Orestes. Because of the crime of killing his mother, Orestes was then cursed into madness by the Furies (or the punishers of the Erinyes). Finally, a public trial, in the presence of the gods, decided Orestes's fate, ending the tragic curse on the Atreus family.

ORESTEIA is a site-specific performance at Manzi Art Space. Reading and voices are at the center-point of the performance while actors movements and actions are minimized. The director utilizes the two-floor structure of the building to half-reveal and half-conceal the dramatic violence. The audiences get to decide
between two experiences that are simultaneously inclusive and exclusive.
